Seeing an organisation’s impact first-hand often tells a far more powerful story than any report or statistic. When we spent time at Smart Works Greater Manchester, it was clear that their service goes well beyond preparing women for interviews. Every element of the experience – from the welcoming environment to personalised styling and tailored coaching – is designed to rebuild confidence and help women recognise their own strengths and potential.
In today’s competitive employment landscape, many gender-focused initiatives understandably concentrate on supporting women already progressing in their careers. At Male Allies UK, we believe it is equally important to champion women who are still trying to access the workplace and whose talents risk being overlooked. Smart Works Greater Manchester shares that belief – their work directly addresses barriers to opportunity, helping women move forward with clarity, belief, and practical tools for success.
That strong alignment in values is why we chose to support them as our partner charity. We were proud to contribute £2,106, with match funding from The Big Give, to help extend their reach and impact. Supporting Smart Works means investing in confidence, access and long-term gender equity – outcomes that benefit not only individual women, but society as a whole.
